hi there, and all
do u have ever experience this problem.
1. I directly sent email from my webmail (i have shared hosting server)to my HOTMAIL email account.. it's received in hotmail.. ok it's fine
Then, i send a message from my hotmail to my domain mail (let's say abc@hosting.com) .. it's ok. i get the message.
now... I send a message from my fmlp pro to my hotmail... guess what ... i never receive the message in my hotmail
but it doesn't happen if i send from my fmlp to yahoo / gmail
for your info... i'm using lunarpages.com hosting package (shared)

This is probably due to spam filter in hotmail. I have experienced this before.
Sometimes the mails are caught by their spam filter mechanism.
This happens too with autoresponders like Aweber or Getresponse.

then why i can send email directly from my webmail to hotmail without being blocked by spam filter.
So what can we do ? are we going to loose customers that use hotmail account ?
Actually i've found something interesting... we can "Appeal" to Hotmail / MSN
it has something to do with SPF RECORD (contact your hosting for this)
http://spf.pobox.com/
http://postmaster.live.com/
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/safety/content/technologies/senderid/wizard/default.aspx (this will allow you to create spf record and add it into your domain, contact your hosting provider to do this)...
After long conversation with my hosting provider... they 'll help me with this... by adding this SPF record , basically you're recognized as "valid" (NOT SPammer)... hope you all benefit from this info

Can you post here on the results?

i'm still waiting for them to do it for me.. coz i have no idea what i should put in , i'm not a computer geek.
Just wait...
That makes me confusing... I host my fmlp on the same hosting provider, yet why i could send email using my webmail to hotmail
If webmail could not send then it makes sense...

ok here you go (this is the reply from my hosting provider, NOT ME)
-----------------
For the spf record, here is an example of the settings you would use:
a -- yes
mx --- yes (unless you are using custom MX records that point to another server)
ptr -- yes (this is so that if you have subdomains, and they have email addresses, they can send emails, if you dont have subdomain email addresses, chose no)
a: leave blank
mx: leave blank
ip4: leave blank
include: blank (unless you use your ISPs email servers, in which case you need to put their mail name in here.
~all : Generally yes.
This will create the SPF record.
I hope this helps.
-----------------------------------------------------
Your SPF record must be published in DNS records of type TXT under yourdomain.com Consult the documentation of your DNS administration tools for further details on publishing this.

When you say webmail hosted on the same hosting provider- are you referring to accessing your POP3 account (on your own domain name) using web interface?
If so, how many email are you sending from webmail and how many from the autoresponder?

yep webmail feature embedded in our cpanel account.
I just send 1 (one) email from my webmail and one from fmlp... my hotmail never receive double opt -in message...
this is a message from hotmail tech support , after adding spf record into my domain( ask your hosting provider for this help)

Thank you for writing to Sender ID Management Team. My name is Michael and I understand that you wish to join the Sender ID Framework program. I know how important this will be.
We have added your yourowndomain.com domain to the Sender ID program. This may take up to 2 business days to be fully replicated in our systems. If you have any questions regarding this please let me know.
If you should make any changes to your SPF record, you do not need to notify us when you make this or any revision to your SPF record since we will automatically pull the current record from the DNS daily. Thanks again for your support in improving online trust and confidence.
Regards,
Michael M.

Thanks for sharing.
You mentioned 2 steps below:
Step 1- add spf record
Step 2- go to https://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?p...ail&ct=eformts (https://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?productKey=senderid&page=support_senderid_options_form_byemail&ct=eformts)
fill the form for MSN to review.
I read above and understand for Step 1- this will be done by the web host.
Do we need to provide the instruction you gave below?

Attention :
Before adding spf record, you need to check yourself at first
1. Never SPAM ? then apply this programme (SenderID )
2. Do you have Privacy policy / TOS ?
3. Do you include Unsubscribe link on every messages you send out ?
4. How do you educate your subscribers to whitelist your email address ?
5. Do you constantly use same "from" name ? and same email address ?
6. Do you have SPF record added into your domain ? different domain names hosted on the same hosting also need to be added too.
More rules : from msn (http://postmaster.live.com/)
from yahoo (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/postmaster/)
instruction how to apply MSN 's senderID
use this site to create spf record
spf record (http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/safety/content/technologies/senderid/wizard/default.aspx)
general rules to create spf record
For the spf record, here is an example of the settings you would use:

This will create the SPF record.
then...
use this to report your problem first
report to msn (https://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?productKey=edfsmsbl&ct=eformts)
then wait for the reply (normally their response is fast)
after your hosting provider adds spf record , wait for 2 working days
then
go to this (https://support.msn.com/eform.aspx?productKey=senderid&page=support_senderid_options_form_byemail&ct=eformts)
then... Microsoft will welcome you joining their SenderID programme
then... it needs another 2 working days to propagate
enjoy.
