FMLP is an AWESOME Email Program with quite alot of flexibility.
However, it would be great if FMLP could be setup to not only email subscribers, but to allow for other marketing methods. For example:
Letter's (Snail Mail That is Mail Merged Just like emails are with the subscriber fields)
Calls (Follow-Up Phone Call Reminders)
Tasks
Appointments (Reminders for site owner to follow up with service appointments)
Etc.
I.E. if I set up a marketing plan, maybe I could get 1 email a day with a 'to-do' list of things I need to do for each subscriber that day.
Like a heading for each one of the above Letter's, Calls, Tasks, or Appointments with a list of subscribers for the day under each heading.
Then, for letters, a link that takes you to an FMLP page where you can select each subscriber or all of them at once to print the letters/postcards/etc.
The other tasks could just be a checklist to go down and complete manually during the day - they wouldn't necessarily be time sensitive, just day sensitive. If you forgot to do them that day, it wouldn't remind you again...it would be practically the same as the existing emails going out, and would mark these tasks, appointments, letters, etc as having been done or gone out, the same as if an email went out.
Maybe have the option of sending the letters as emails if you decided not to do snail mail that day.
Look - I know what you're thinking - why would you want to mail letters or postcards? Well, letters might be pointless, but postcards would be ok. The key here is to mix up the marketing tools such that the subscriber doesn't get bored of one method.
For example, what if a person uses FMLP in conjunction with mailings, phone call correspondence, etc...
Right now, FMLP does emails and it does it VERY WELL! I'm just adding suggestions for future updates to add functionality.
