View Full Version : Manual Subscribe DOESN'T Automatically Subscribe User To Other Accts?

I have several 'accounts' linked to eachother.

What I mean is this - when jon doe fills out a form and gets subscribed to account A, he automatically gets subscribed to B, C & D. I set it up this way on purpose.

However, I have found that if I manually add a subscriber to account A, that subscriber does NOT get added to B,C & D automatically.

Is this the way the FMLP PRO was meant to be? It's a little redundant to have to import the users into the other account if it's possible to get the FMLP to do it automatically.

Perhaps I need to enter their info into the FORM on my website to get this to automatically subscribe (it would be a work around). DRQ, what do you think?

Q1. However, I have found that if I manually add a subscriber to account A, that subscriber does NOT get added to B,C & D automatically.

No, it will not in manual mode.

You can use the import prospect feature to add them.

Q2. Perhaps I need to enter their info into the FORM on my website to get this to automatically subscribe (it would be a work around)

You can do it this way if you have the double optin feature disabled. But you must be sure you have their permission first.

Here's a great workaround that doesn't require you to host the form on your site. This will insure that when you manually subscribe a user to one account, they will also be subscribed to any associated accounts you linked to the one where you are subscribing them.

Copy the FMLP form html code and paste into a notepad file on your computer. Save as type 'all files' and put .html after the name. Make sure to save this in a permanent folder on your pc, rather than your desktop.

Then drag the file to your browser bookmarks. Now you can just click on the bookmark to get the form...don't even need to be signed in to FMLP and don't need to host this on your site where others might have access to it.

You can customize the html file you just created to put in a form title so you don't get these manual subscriber add forms mixed up. Also, you'll need to change the name of the bookmark to whatever your 'account' is so you will know which form this bookmark is for.

Hope that helps everyone. It makes adding a subscriber actually easier, because now you don't need to be logged in to FMLP.

Hmmm...I have never tried that. Do you have to disable the double optin feature first?

No, I didn't have double opt-in enabled.

It probably wouldn't work with double opt-in, because the subscriber would be getting an email.

Not that I want double opt-in, but when I did test it on my site form, I had that issue with firefox trying to download the register.cgi script.

So, I'll skip double opt in for now. It's good to have double opt-in if we could resolve the download problem. I'd sure like to eliminate bogus sign ups. But then I guess I wouldn't be able to do my trick as mentioned in this thread (i.e. the notepad html file creation that is used to sign up subscribers to multiple accounts.)

Q1. Having the double optin feature safe guard you from being accused of spamming later. I always leave this feature on.

Q2. "firefox trying to download the register.cgi script"

Try another machine. I am sure this is machine dependent i.e., it could be due to your browser setting.
